Dr. Neil Binkley is a faculty member of the Division of Geriatrics and Gerontology within the Department of Medicine. He was instrumental in establishing the UW Osteoporosis Clinical Center and the Osteoporosis Clinical Research Program. He is also the associate director of the UW- Madison Institute on Aging. An internationally recognized expert in osteoporosis, sarcopenia and vitamin D, Dr. Binkley is a past president of the International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD), a member of the Committee of Scientific Advisors of the International Osteoporosis Foundation (IOF) and Associate Editor of Osteoporosis International. In 2016, he received a Champion in Women’s Health award from the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation.

Julien Paccou, MD, PhD is a professor in Rheumatology at Lille University Hospital, France. He received his MD from Lille University Hospital in 2008. He has prepared and obtained his PhD thesis in 2013 on Vascular Calcification in Rheumatoid Arthritis in the INSERM U1088 laboratory at Amiens University Hospital, France. Then, he completed his postdoctoral fellowship in 2014 at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Unit, University of Southampton, UK under the supervision of Professor Cyrus Cooper.

His research interests include the links between bones and fat: medullary adiposity, obesity, bariatric surgery, body composition and myosteatosis. Professor Paccou is a member of the Capture the Fracture Governance.
